5th Next Generation Sequencing Workshop in Vienna

In cooperation with the Austrian Public Health and Food Agency (AGES) and the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) PathoNGen-Trace organized the ‘5th Next Generation Sequencing Workshop -

Listeria monocytogenes and Mycobacterium tuberculosis’ that took place in Vienna, Austria, on February 24th – 26th, 2016. Next-Generation-Sequencing (NGS) technology has developed rapidly during the last years. Innovative benchtop NGS platforms broaden application opportunities, especially for diagnostic use and surveillance. The program highlighted the opportunities and challenges posed by this technology. The workshop was designed to boost practical laboratory and bioinformatics knowledge exchange as well as ample discussions with experts from all over Europe.
